Shadow Cabaret

The Shadow Cabaret

The Shadow Cabaret is an annual sacred-satirical outdoor theater production that's designed, produced, and performed in a farming community in northern Virginia.

Each year the show is built around a central theme, such as grappling with the unknown or the trials and tribulations of intentional living. The production engages the audience in these themes they are moved across the land, encountering surprise after surprise and often necessitating participation and reflection of some kind. The Shadow Cabaret draws out our shadows, personal and collective, and the show follows the timing of the sun which sets at a crucial moment in the performance.

It's held together by a cast and crew of farmers, facilitators, musicians, and community members, and each production always ends with a giant feast for the entire audience and crew.
